How to implement good health and safety in the work place in order to boost employee engagement

The Health and Safety at Work Act is a crucial piece of legislation that sets the foundation for ensuring workplace health and safety. The employer has a great opportunity to ensure workplace safety by taking all measures "to the extent reasonably practicable" to prevent or limit workplace risk (Falkenburg & Schyns, 2007).

Have a written policy

If you have five or more employees, all you need is a documented policy. Having a written plan is a great idea because it allows you to carefully analyze your business's risks and take measures to minimize them, even if you don't have a large workforce (Manjoo, 2013). Your plan will showcase your commitment to health and safety by outlining how you will manage it. You will also highlight the individuals responsible for ensuring health and safety in your company and the measures you've taken to prevent or eliminate hazards. It's great that the policy is reviewed at least once a year, and it's even better that it can be reviewed more frequently if necessary.

Have a proper training program

Ensure that all employees have received health and safety training. Great to have you here! I want to start by emphasizing that your needs and priorities are our top focus. Let's work together to ensure that we meet your expectations and make this a successful experience. It's great to examine this on a regular basis, and employees will have the opportunity to receive refresher training when new policies are enacted (Transport Initiatives Edinburgh, 2007). 

Get the write equipment 

The existence of a health and safety policy is commendable. Now, let's concentrate on mitigating the identified risks to ensure a safe and wholesome environment.
